What is the most important information I should know about chlordiazepoxide and amitriptyline hydrochloride tablets?


Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how taking chlordiazepoxide and amitriptyline hydrochloride tablets with opioids affects you.

How can I watch for and try to prevent suicidal thoughts and actions in myself or a family member?

Call your healthcare provider right away if you or your family member have any of the following symptoms, especially if they are new, worse, or worry you:

  • thoughts about suicide or dying
  • attempts to commit suicide
  • new or worse depression
  • new or worse anxiety or irritability
  • feeling agitated or restless
  • an extreme increase in activity and talking
  • trouble sleeping
  • new or worse panic attacks
  • acting aggressive, being angry or violent
  • acting on dangerous impulses
  • other unusual changes in behavior or mood

What are the ingredients in chlordiazepoxide and amitriptyline hydrochloride tablets?


Active ingredient: chlordiazepoxide, amitriptyline (as the hydrochloride salt)


Inactive ingredients: hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, silicon dioxide, sodium starch glycolate, talc and titanium dioxide. In addition, the 10 mg/25 mg tablet contains polyethylene glycol 400 and 5 mg/12.5 mg tablet contains D&C YELLOW NO.10, FD&C BLUE NO.1, FD & C YELLOW NO. 6 and polyethylene glycol 6000.
