Non-Sterile Powder

When powder is reconstituted to 250 mL with water, each mL contains 392 mg sodium pentobarbital.

• Highest potency of pentobarbital available which provides the most humane euthanasia possible.
• The sequence of rapid and painless euthanasia is as follows:

   

  Within seconds the animal loses consciousness and this stage rapidly progresses to deep anesthesia. A few minutes later both cardiac and respiratory activity cease and cerebral death ensues.

• Excellent "syringeability".
• For use in all non-food animal species*.
• Economical: one 250 mL vial will humanely euthanize up to one hundred, 25 lb. animals.

Potency guaranteed for 120 days after reconstitution.

Directions for Mixing

Add water slowly to between the 150 mL and 200 mL lines. After replacing cap, shake well to dissolve all of the powder. Fill to the 250 mL line ONLY with more water. (DO NOT FILL ABOVE THE 250 mL LINE). A bluish-red dye is included in the formulation to help distinguish it from parenteral drugs intended for therapeutic use.

Dosage and Administration

Inject 1 mL for each 10 pounds of body weight (minimum 1 mL). Intravenous injection is preferred. Intraperitoneal or intracardiac injections may be made when intravenous injection is impractical, as in a very small dog or cat, or in a comatose dog or cat with impaired vascular functions.

To avoid leaking: DO NOT over tighten cap prior to shaking.

Dosage and Administration: Inject 1 mL for each 10 pounds of body weight

injections may be made when intravenous injection is impractical, as in a very small dog
or cat, or in a comatose dog or cat with impaired vascular functions.

The following is recommended when withdrawing solution:
1. Do not inject air into the bottle prior to withdrawing solution. 2. Use no larger than
18 gauge needles for withdrawing solution. 3. Should any dripping from the injection
port occur, replace cap.

ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD: This product is toxic to wildlife. Birds
and mammals feeding on treated animals may be killed. Euthanized animals
must be properly disposed of by deep burial, incineration, or other method
in compliance with state and local laws, to prevent consumption of carcass
material by scavenging wildlife.
