DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Do Not Use Full Strength.
Read and follow label carefully. Dilute according to directions below.
TREATMENT:
Apply Double-Action as directed for the prevention and treatment of hairy hoof warts. Cleanliness of hoof and frequent applicaton with fresh solution may accelerate the healing process.
If Double-Action concentrate freezes, thaw in a warm room, shake or agitate well before use. If mixed Double-Action solution should become contaminated or freezes, discard and prepare a fresh Double-Action solution.
Footbath Dilutions
Footbath dilutions are intended to treat 200 cows, after which it is recommended that the footbath solution be discarded and replaced with a fresh Double-Action footbath solution. Mix thoroughly 1 gallon (3.8L) of Double-Action Hoof Treatment Concentrate with 49 gallons (185.5L) of water used in the footbath. If gallon capacity of footbath is unknown, use the following formula to calculate:
Inside Length (in.) X Inside Width (in.) X Fluid Height (in.) / 231 = gallon capacity of footbath
Cow should be exposed to Double-Action footbaths as outlined below:
Heaviliy Soiled Conditions High Lesion Prevalence 2 times per day for 7 consecutive days (>15% of herd is afflicted) Note: This exposure rate is recommended for crowded conditions, or as a biosecurity measure if bought cows are continually entering the herd. |
Moderately Soiled Conditions Medium-to-High 2 times per day for 5 consecutive days Lesion Prevalence (10-15% of herd is afflicted) |
Good Housing Conditions Low-to-Medium 2 times per day for 3 consecutive days Lesion Prevalence (0-10% of herd is afflicted) Note: This exposure rate is recommended for lesion prevention |
Spray-On Applications
Before milking, rinse hooves thoroughly with water to remove mud and manure. After a spray-on solution of Double-Action has been prepared, thoroughly saturate each hoof and heel of the cow with the solution. Repeat 2 times per day for 14 days or as needed. More frequent applications may be required. For spray bottle applications, mix 1.5 ounces (44.4mL) of Double-Action per quart (0.95L) of water used. For garden-type sprayers, mix 8.5 ounces (192.2mL) of Double-Action per gallon (3.8L) of water used. Should solution become contaminated, discard and prepare a fresh Double-Action spray-on solution.
MAINTENANCE PROGRAM:
Read and follow the label as directed. For foot wart control, footbathing or spray application should occur on a weekly basis year 'round for all cows. After initial treatment has been completed as directed above, evaluate cows for foot wart prevalence. Begin a Double-Action maintenance footbathing or spray program of 3 footbaths/applications (minimum) per week or as needed. Exposure to footbaths or spray applications should be increased if heffers or purchased cows continually enter the milking herd, or during time of inclement weather. If freezing temperatures restrict use of footbaths, switch to spray applications.
